Due to increasing violence against women and girls in the slums Box Girls Kenya was started to provide these young women with self-defense mechanisms to help fend off predators. The program has produced both Professional and Olympic boxers.
This is a compilation of FICCS videos with our young women and girls. Each video was produced in-house to help promote and support the girls we work with. Please click on the link and enjoy the videos created by the girls and FICCS.
This video gives you a in depth look into the fate of disabled children in Africa. Most are literally discarded like trash due to social stigmas and belief that they are a curse from God. In addition, most families cannot take care of themselves so taking care of a disabled child is unthinkable.
Hawker's Market Girls Center (HMGC) is a program that provides life and job skills to young women in the slums of Nairobi. FICCS provides them with scholarships, food, medical supplies, health training and mental health counseling.
What we do in East Africa
This is a video which showcases all of the FICCS programs in East Africa.
"I thought problems with my body were normal because no one ever told me there was something wrong. Thanks to FICCS and their class I now know how to take care of myself."
